MAHMOUD DARWICH (PALESTINIAN POET)
Today we feature the voice and poetry of the great Palestinian Poet, Mahmoud Darwich. We hear him in a recital supported by the Palestinian Oud/Percussion musicians and brothers: Le Trio Jourbran. We also hear a composition using the words of Mahmoud Darwich by the French Musician/Composer, Rudolph Burger.

AN ALGERIAN MIXTAPE
Today we bring a mix of music from Algeria, primarily featuring two female singers: Houria Aichi and Cheikha Rimitti. Both of these artists also were based in Paris due to the strong and contentious French-Algerian shared history. We also listen to a younger Algerian musician who is based in Paris, Anouar Kaddour Cherif. He plays the Algerian lute, the Mandole, in a jazz quartet setting fetauring bass clarinet, drums and upright bass.
